“Tell me of the man of many ways...”
Before he was a king, a warrior, or a sailor, Odysseus was πολύτροπος — the man of many ways, many turns, and endless resourcefulness. The one who knew how to change his path whenever fate closed the road ahead.
The Πολύτροπος necklace is an homage to the hero of the Odyssey and his long journey towards Ithaca, told through symbols of the sea, ingenuity, and his identity as a warrior.
At the center of the necklace, a gold-toned pewter disc engraved with a Greek key pattern holds a small Greek ship, suspended and gently moving within it: a symbol of the journey at the heart of Odysseus' epic tale.
Along the chain, two leafy branches intertwine with blue and white ceramic beads and two small blue evil-eye beads, traditionally associated with protection and chosen here as a small talisman for those setting out on their own journey.
Completing the design, two elements become part of the necklace itself rather than hanging from it: a bow, symbol of Odysseus' skill and ingenuity, and a stylized wave, evoking the sea that would keep him away from home for so many years.
Handcrafted in gold-plated stainless steel, this necklace is imagined as a small talisman for travellers, dreamers, and anyone who, like Odysseus, has learned that reaching one's destination sometimes means finding a thousand different ways to finally make one's way home.

The Roots of the Myth 🌿
Πολύτροπος — the man of many ways
Πολύτροπος is the epithet with which Homer introduces Odysseus at the very beginning of the Odyssey: Ἄνδρα μοι ἔννεπε, Μοῦσα, πολύτροπον.
The word combines πολύς (“many” or “much”) and τρόπος (“way”, “turn”, “manner” or “direction”), evoking someone capable of adapting, changing strategy, and finding different paths when faced with an obstacle.
For this reason, polýtropos does not simply describe Odysseus' cleverness. It expresses one of the defining qualities of his character: his ability to adapt, read circumstances, and transform obstacles into new possibilities.
The ship suspended at the centre of the pendant represents the journey; the bow recalls the hero's skill; the wave evokes the sea separating him from Ithaca; while the leaves and olive-inspired elements suggest the Greek land towards which his journey ultimately leads.
The eye, chosen here as a small protective talisman, also echoes the theme of the journey and the unseen dangers encountered along the way.
The title Πολύτροπος also completes the opening necklace of Nóstos: the verse invoked by the Muse now leads us to the man she has called upon us to tell of.
